The Taipei Exposition is coming soon. What are you looking for?
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon.
My name is Maggie.
Today’s topic is A day at the 2010 Taipei international gardening and horticulture exposition
In my opinion, Taipei is a very modern and fashionable capital. So what I expect from this huge international exposition is the following:
1. First, to promote this exposition, we will advertise the Expo in all the major cities in the World.
2. For instance, advertisements of Taipei Expo will take place in US, Canada, Europe and so on.
3. For those people who are not in Taiwan, they can also see it on the website.
4. Hopefully, this may attract many potential tourists.
5. I believe that no matter how wonderful our city is, we still can use multimedia to show Taipei City.
6. Moreover, we can broadcast the live show for Taiwanese people or people of other nations who cannot come to Taiwan.
7. We can also use webcams to promote the exhibition, so that people can see the exhibition on the Internet live.
1. Second, one can get to the exhibitions easily.
2. Now we are expecting to have the Expo in 4 parks, like YuanShan Park, Xinsheng Park et cetera.
3. We need to think what foreigners’ needs are if they come to Taipei City, Taiwan for the first time.
4. Most of them don’t speak Chinese.
5. As a result, I think we need to offer multilingual services, such as English, Japanese, and Spanish interpreters and translators to help those visitors in need.
6. Also, we can have different ways to guide different guests, like MRT as well as buses.
We also need to have posters or billboards written in other languages that people might speak.
1. Third, one can get much information from the exhibitions.
2. We should imagine that a traveler is coming to Taipei City,
3. and think, what can we show them so that they will have an unforgettable experience that they can share with their friends and family.
4. Let me give you an example. We can show some unique Chinese culture that we can only see in Taiwan.
5. We can show the flowers we plant and show them at the exhibitions.
6. This event is really a good opportunity to promote more cooperation with other countries.
1. Fourth, to ensure everything runs smoothly,
2.
3. There is a proverb, “Luck favors the prepared mind.”
4. we need to plan and prepare everything well ahead.
5. In my view, the exhibition is very important but how to achieve our city goal is more important.
6. As we, civil servants, we need to think about what we can do for Taiwan, and its citizens.
7. No matter how we show it, we need to take great efforts on the practical views ,
8. such as how we protect our environment,
9. how we are good at using information technology to best benefit our residents,
10. and how we develop our economy and life.
1. Finally, I really hope that we can welcome many foreigners to visit Taipei City.
2. And we should take this great chance and do our best.
3. Therefore, we can accomplish the vision by connecting Taipei to this world and improve its international status.
4. I am sure that the Taipei City Government will have a successful exposition next year. Moreover, please enjoy everything at the exhibitions and have fun. This concludes my speech.
5. Thank you very much.
