how to distinguish fall/over/down/off

1.fall down

verb
lose an upright position suddenly; "The vase fell over and the water spilled onto the table

ex:Babies often fall down when they are learning to walk.



2.fall over

fall forward and down;
ex1:"The old woman went over without a sound"
ex2:He fell over into the water.


3.fall off

verb
1. come off; "This button had fallen off"
2. fall heavily or suddenly; decline markedly; "The real estate market fell off" [syn: slump]
3. diminish in size or intensity


ex:If you set the glass too near the edge of the table,it will fall off and break.
