landfall

landfall:

the first land that is reached or seen at the end of a journey across thesea or through the air, or the fact of arriving there:

Make a sentence:

Super typhoon Nepartak made landfall in Taiwan early Friday, about 15 kilometers south of the eastern city of Taitung, tearing roofs off buildings, flipping cars and dumping rain across the island.

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/07/06/world/super-typhoon-nepartak-taiwan/

My example:

Typhoon, Nepartak made landfall in Taiwan early Friday.  Taiwanese people definitely felt happy that they got a day off that most people didn't need to work on Friday.

internship fair

internship:
a period of time spent doing a job as part of becoming qualified to do it

We got an internship fair yesterday afternoon. Originally, I just knew a little about it as Jackie, who is a Kaplan staff, mentioned it.

After intervewing with the internship members, I found that it was very totally a perfect job. In my opinion, if we want to improve our English quickly, it's the BEST way. They won't get money because it's illegal to do any job in America and they will help some people as well. Last but not least, they are very ambitious. So I voted to the most ambitious korea girl. Her ambition deeply impressed me a lot.

Here I want to say thank you for Kaplan.

stunning

stunning

extremely beautiful or attractive

I think that Miley Cyrus star as Ronnie Miller in The Last Song is stunningly beautiful. I am jealous of her beauty but I just don't like this kind of girl who is so cool and not easygoing, likely one of my coworkers.

Please correct my mistakes if possible. Thanks in advance.

devastating effect

devastating effect

devastate:
to destroy a place or thing completely or cause great damage

Eg.
Do you believe movies can predict events? "Oceans rise, cities fall, hope survives" is a line from the movie called Deep Impact , which was posted in summer, 1998. Consider after 6 years 12/26/2004, what is going on in Indonesia right now because of the deterioration of their currency, which is a far cry from the devastating effect like the end of the world as we know it. Just like the scene of the movie -- the spectacle of giant tidal waves wiping out entire cities.

Internet Vigilantism

Just as water can lift boats, so can it sink them. Internet vigilantism can be a double-edged sword. While such actions have shown the tremendous power of the Internet, they have also brought with them controversies and questions.

I can't agree with this idea anymore.
