This post explains how to effectively upload music MP3s and other audio files via Blogger so that people can play them from your blog post. This trick makes use of Blogger's new video uploading feature, currently still in beta.As you may know, following the rollout of the now feature complete fancy New Blogger, formerly known as Blogger Beta, Blogger have decided to allow users to access experimental features via the new Blogger in Draft - for example, the ability to upload videos. Users of Blogger in Draft can upload video files, which are hosted for free on Google Video. Video uploading is the first test feature to be rolled out via Blogger in Draft (effectively a playground for users to try out and comment on planned new features which aren't quite ready for prime time yet - more on Blogger in Draft, and its video uploading and some screenshots of the video uploading process plus issues and bugs). However, Blogger still don't allow users to upload audio files like MP3s. So, my suggested workaround to add audio files is this (sounds like a recipe doesn't it, though no scissors are involved!):
take a picture or photo that goes with the MP3 you want to add to your blog - in fact any image file will do, you can even use more than one if you want to, but it's kinda nice to pick something that matches the mood of the MP3 you want to upload
take the MP3 that you want to add to your blog post
combine the image and the audio into a video file (movie), so that basically the audio "accompanies" the static photo i.e. the photo is the background for the audio you want to store via Google, and
upload the resulting video file to Blogger in Draft. Here's an example of a combined video I made earlier:
some comments:
I tried this and the sound will not play, it is blank, I have wmm just like you, and if you are can't tell me why the sound is blank you should not be making tutorials like this, because frankly this is common sense. Cover more ground please. Also DO you know why ALL audio files i add don't make SOUND!?
nice one mate. you explained it very well
Wonderfully clear and concise explanation. Thank you. From a first timer.

Hi Maggie,
ReplyDeleteNice job on showing us how to convert MP3 to video. I really like your site as well. I am having a problem that maybe you could help with. I did just as you stated in the video for converting an MP3 to a video in Blogger, however the end result is a duplicate picture of the album cover associated with the music video. I would really appreciate your detailed help with this issue. http://www.exbyte6969.blogspot.com/ I would just like to get rid of the duplicate picture.
Thank you for your time,
Charlene

Hi, Brunk
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, welcome to my blog.
But I'm going to tell you that I actually haven't tried the way to convert mp3 to video and put different pictures on that video. However, I did watch the video which a girl posted on youtube as you see on my blog. I simply reproduced it on my blog. I think maybe if someone is interested in it, s/he can step by step and get they want And I guess it may work.
But are you rushing to slove the problem? If not,I think I can spend some time to try it and tell you the result.
Also, I would like to make sure your problems. I went to your blog and see what the video you really uploaded on your blog. It looks like you want to put different pictures on that video. So that you definitely have different pictures for the video, don't you? I simply want to confirm your problem.
Speak to you soon.
Maggie^^
