conceive: to image something or become pregant
make a sentence: In Chinese culture, many elder people want their daughter-in-law to conceive
a boy. But I think this idea is extremely not good. In my opinion, both boys and girls should be welcome in this world. How can we treat them unfairly. What's your opinion?
I make a sentence for the new vocabulary 'conceive'. And please give me advice if available. Thanks so much.

Hi Maggie!
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't responded for so long. My life has been insanely busy.
The sentence "In my opinion, both of boy and girl IS welcome to this world" sounds a little awkward. A clearer way to say it would be "In my opinion, both boys and girls should be welcome in this world"
I changed "IS" to "should" because this is your opinion and what you want to happen- not necessarily what does happen.
And just a little spelling thing- I think you meant "advice" instead of "advise." Advise is a verb and advice is a noun.
Smile :) I love reading your blog.

Hi Kalsow,
ReplyDeleteThanks for correcting my sentence. I feel sorry to have some spelling mistakes becaue I think it is a basic thing for an English learner like me. I'll check it after writing something next time for more times.
Hi Maggie,
ReplyDeleteIt is totally ok if you make mistakes. I actually think I learn words better if I use them from memory and have someone else correct me when I am wrong. It helps so you remember how to do it right the next time.
Does that make any sense?
Its like learning through your mistakes.
